Tour Miami Worldcenter & MiamiCentral, two of the most significant transit oriented mixed-use developments in South Florida
This tour will introduce the two most significant transit oriented mixed-use developments in Miami: the implementation of Brightline’s high speed commuter rail line and the Miami Worldcenter mixed-use development. Participants will visit the Miami Worldcenter site and Brightline’s adjacent MiamiCentral Station to learn how mass transit and mixed-use developments can reinforce one another to revitalize and improve the livability of a fast-growing urban area.
Brightline is a $2.4 billion high-speed passenger rail project connecting South and Central Florida that is revolutionizing mass transit in the region, with stations planned in Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. The rail line includes a “Grand Central Station” – like hub in downtown Miami with retail, office, residential, parking, and ancillary transit-related components.
The $3 billion Miami Worldcenter project is the largest real estate development in the history of Florida and second largest in the United States after Hudson Yards. Located in the heart of downtown Miami, the expansive, nearly 30-acre mixed-use development will include a convention center, hotel space, and multiple residential towers, as well as significant street level retail and large anchor tenant space.
