Coconut Grove Gets Its Groove Back

Notable projects revitalize one of Miami’s oldest neighborhoods

8:00 am – 11:30 am

Experience the revitalization of Coconut Grove, a Miami submarket rich with history and charm, now infused with a modern transformation of high-profile real estate. Introducing new projects to be visited – the recently completed Cocowalk; the iconic Mr. C Miami hotel; and the ‘Class A’ office building 2850 Tigertail. Surrounded by walkable streets and affluent residences, participants will learn about how these developments reimagined the properties for optimum use, to drive density and elevate the area’s commercial real estate dynamic.

Cocowalk, the legendary lifestyle retail center at the main and main intersection of Coconut Grove, has been recently transformed. The center was transitioned through a combination of redevelopment, renovation and re-tenanting from a predominately retail project that served tourists into a mixed use development targeting the area’s affluent residents and workers. It now features 150,000 square feet of state-of-the-art retail and over 110,000 square feet of ‘Class A’ office space, and a plaza that people call the “living room of Coconut Grove.” The project opened in late 2020 and is nearly 100% leased.

Mr. C Miami, inspired by architecture of Italy’s iconic coast, boasts 100 hotel rooms. It is designed to be supported on sculptural stilts in the tree canopy of Coconut Grove, embracing the idea of the historic Stiltsville structures in Biscayne Bay that can be seen at a distance from the 62,000-square-foot hotel. Developed by Related Group, 2850 Tigertail is an art-filled, multi-terraced 8-story office building on a one-acre site. The new building totals 105,000 square feet of office space, with 4,000 square feet of ground floor space, plus a parking garage.
