Lakisha Hull currently serves as the Planning Director for the City of Miami. With over 19 years of professional experience, she has led teams in processing design review projects, large-scale developments, while creating code amendments and neighborhood plans in planning departments throughout Florida and in California. Prior to joining the City of Miami, Ms. Hull led a team of 30 engineers, inspectors and permit administrators as the Development Services Division Manager at Charlotte Department of Transportation. Ms. Hull’s signature projects include leading the adoption processes for Miami Freedom Park’s Special Area Plan; the Crenshaw Boulevard Specific Plan and Streetscape Plan in Los Angeles, CA; the 450-acre master plan for Ballantyne Reimagined in Charlotte, NC; ‘The Pearl”: Charlotte Innovation District Medical Campus, and multiple mixed-income transit-oriented development plans. Ms. Hull received a dual master’s degree in Architecture and City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan. She is a certified planner under American Planning Association and holds green building certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
