General Session I: Big Deals: The Changing Landscape of Tampa Bay

Thursday, May 25, 2017 01:30 PM – 2:45 PM Grand Ballroom General Session

From the heart of downtown Tampa to the suburbs, Tampa Bay is undergoing a transformation that will change the region for generations to come. The relocated USF Medical School will anchor a 42- acre redevelopment project in downtown Tampa that will include residential, office, retail and more. North of Tampa, Wiregrass Ranch, a 5,022-acre property in Wesley Chapel, will ultimately accommodate 16,000 new homes, new and expanded medical facilities, and two million square feet of commercial space, including a new Raymond James complex. East of Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch ranks in the top 10 of the nation’s most rapidly growing communities and continues to expand. Our panelists will share their knowledge of Tampa and why their projects are important to the region.
